About Mmabotsetse
A Steady Presence for Your Most Sacred Moments
As a Birth Companion, I walk alongside you through one of life’s most transformative journeys, your pregnancy, birth and the tender postpartum period.
Every birth is unique and so is every family. My care is thoughtfully tailored to your needs, preferences and your birth plan.
I provide postpartum support services as a Professional Postpartum Care Provider, that honours the importance of caring for the mother as she transitions into motherhood. My work is based on holistic care principles through training and the nurturing tradition of the Botsetse confinement period, a traditional practice by the Batswana. I hold this wisdom with deep respect while embracing a culturally inclusive approach that welcomes and supports families from different backgrounds in our diverse communities.
I am a registered Birth Doula with Fedhealth Medical Aid, Momentum Health and Discovery Health, making my services more accessible to families seeking supported and informed care.
My Birth Philosophy
Every woman deserves dignity, respect and compassionate care
My service is aligned with respectful maternity care guidelines honouring your right to a birth companion of choice. Here your voice is heard, your choices are respected and your autonomy is protected.
I believe in the body’s natural ability to give birth and support physiological birth. I hold space for you to labour in a way that feels intuitive, supported and safe.
At the same time, I respect that pregnancy and labour is not linear, often unpredictable and plans may change. Whether your journey unfolds as expected or shifts into something different, my support remains constant.
I am here to walk with you and to ensure that you feel informed and supported.
Because this work is not about a “perfect” birth; it is about how you are held, treated and supported through it all.
I support all types of births, and most importantly, I support you.
